The DC Airports app was developed for the passengers of our two-airport system, Reagan National and Dulles International Airports. This app seamlessly connects travelers with the information and amenities that they need at along all points of their travel journey. Unlike third party apps, it provides accurate, real time data on flights, security wait times, parking and more.
Departing travelers receive push notifications for their outbound flight, such as delays and gate changes. They can plan and book their parking in advance and check on the current security wait time. Turn-by-turn wayfinding guides the traveler to their gate and helps them discover what shops are nearby. For that little extra peace of mind, the app saves their flights and scans boarding passes.
Arriving travelers can find out what baggage claim to go to and connect to their ground transport. For onsite parking customers, the app reminds them where they parked. And for Metrorail travelers, the app tells them exactly how many minutes until the next train arrives. In other words, do they need to sprint for the platform, or can they finally take a breather as their trip comes to an end?
Additionally, the app connects those still planning their trip with flight, hotel, car rental booking resources. It also provides general airport information, such as for those traveling with family, pets, military, or the disabled. Users are able to personalize their experience, such as by indicating how they will be traveling, whether they need physical assistance and whether to receive push notifications.
