The Information Desk Kiosk was developed for use by an airport’s Travelers Aids to better assist customers with their information requests. The solution runs a dual-paneled system that displays information to customers and can serve as a telestrator, such as for sketching a path along a map for wayfinding.

In addition to featuring static and interactive maps for wayfinding, the system provides current information on flights, gates, baggage, ground transport and other information of interest to the traveler. The system also generates a QR code so that the requested information can be sent directly to the customer’s mobile device.

The solution helps to eliminate manual processes for the Travelers Aid, but it also assists airports with understanding customer needs. Each customer interaction is logged, and the data can aggregated and analyzed. Backend systems integration allows workorders to be automatically generated when needed.

This system provides a cost-effective solution through commercially available hardware, which can be scaled and replicated quickly in existing airport infrastructure.
